These two technical writing projects highlight my understanding of writing for digital media.
Feasibility Report
This document highlights my ability to formulate a scientific question, develop a testable hypothesis, create and distribute a survey, and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data. While I was already skilled at crafting scientific questions, applying this to a non-scientific topic was a new challenge. The open-ended instructions allowed me to creatively explore the effectiveness of different time management apps for students.
Distributing a survey and encouraging peers to participate required both courage and motivation. I was initially concerned that my data might not be robust enough to support a viable argument. Fortunately, my participants were thorough, and my scope was well-defined.
My feasibility report demonstrates my understanding of proper report formatting and the effective integration of graphs within the text.
Website Analysis
The Internet has changed dramatically since 2010, thanks to extensive user experience testing and technological advances that have made the web faster and more effective. Key principles for developing a website today include readability, intuitive navigation, and accessibility—concepts that were less prioritized a decade ago.
By the end of GIT 301, I was eager to leave behind Poppin’ Joe’s Popcorn website from 2010. Analyzing it through the Wayback Machine showed me how to revise, redesign, and enhance a website for better user experience, which was pivotal for my development career.
